Nummelan Portti wetland park
Nummela Gate is a seven-hectare green park area with a large wetland at its heart. The area is located in Nummela, between Porintie and Enäjärvi Ridalinlahti.
The area is circled by a wide, cobbled path about a kilometre long. The path is quite suitable for wheelchair and pushchair users, as well as cyclists. Along the trail there are information signs about the area and its ecosystem, as well as a bird tower where you can also watch the life of Enäjärvi Lake.
The Nummela Gate wetland was built in 2010 to mark the UN's International Year of Biodiversity. The park was built at the mouth of a catchment area of around 500 hectares, where it significantly limits the run-off of surface water and its chemicals into Enäjärvi Lake. At the same time, the park provides a biodiverse environment for birds and animals. There are more than 100 species of plants.
