Nature trail in Pääkslahti
The nature trail in Pääkslahti presents the diverse nature of Vihti. Along the trails you will find coniferous forest, rocky hills and stunning views of Hiidenvesi. A printable online guidebook describes the landscape and flora of the area.
The nature trail has three well-marked, intersecting routes: the Kirnunk loop (2.8 km), the Puumann trail (1.3 km) and the Laukkakallio loop (1.2 km). In addition, a connecting path (0.7 km) leads from the Kirnunkierroks to the Rysätarha and the Black Cellar.
Along the trails you can see, among other things, a three-metre-deep giant cherry tree and many types of cherry tree embryos. In spring, the golden spruce trees stand out, and as the seasons change, the flora is also abundant. The shores of the Hiidenvlei are home to the Black Cellar and Laukkakallio lookout points, as well as the trap garden and Puumanni lodge. When approaching from the water, the Black Cellar lookout also offers a view of the lip cave below.
The routes are partly on paths and partly on wider paths. However, it is not possible to use prams or wheelchairs to get around the trails. There are differences in altitude of almost 40 metres and the paths are partly on rocks and rhizomes. There is a relatively steep hill leading to both huts. In spring and autumn the terrain is damp, so rubber boots are a good choice, in summer jogging shoes are fine. The rocks are slippery in wet weather.
