Konianvuori

Konianvuori is a lookout point on the shore of Lake Moksjärvi. At the foot of Konianvuori you can also see an exceptional coal boulder.

The 149 m high Konianvuori is one of the highest places in Vihti. From the top, you can enjoy stunning views of the beautiful pine forest and Lake Moksjärvi. Below the Konianvuori, on the cliff face, you can see a geological curiosity, a large half of a coal boulder.

The area is criss-crossed by paths, but there are no actual marked trails. From the end of Konianti road there is a forest road leading under Konianvuori. There are two routes to the top of Konia, both of which are very demanding and steep. The narrow paths also contain fallen trees, rocks and rhizomes.

There is no public parking area in Konia, but you can park your car at Moksjärvi beach (1.8 km from Konia). It is not possible to leave your car on the Konia road, as the area is densely populated and the road is winding and narrow.

Konia is a nature reserve and is also subject to the restrictions of a nature reserve. For example, cycling and camping are prohibited, and no plants, wildlife or nests may be damaged or disturbed. The site is part of the Natura 2000 biodiversity area.

The Konia area has significant and diverse natural values. The old-growth forest is part of the state's old-growth forest conservation programme and nationally endangered flora has also been found in the area. The area is important for forest birds and has a representative flora in many places, i.e. typical of its habitat. The Konianvuori rock formation has been identified as a site of national importance.

Konianvuori is geographically located in the middle of the villages of Olkkala, Herrakunta and Moks.
