Haltia Nature Centre
Haltia Finnish Nature Centre is located in Espoo, just a few kilometres from Vihti, half an hour's drive from Helsinki - near the Nuuksio National Park.
Opened in 2013, the aim of Haltija is to showcase Finnish nature and strengthen visitors' relationship with nature. Haltia showcases the diversity of nature throughout Finland and the magnificent landscapes of our national parks, but it also serves as a gateway to nice hiking trails in Nuuksioon.
Haltia is operated by Metsähallitus Nature Services and Vihti Municipality is a co-funder.
Haltias exhibitions showcase nature in a variety of ways
Haltija's exhibitions bring all of Finland's nature close to you. In the Nature Centre's permanent Nature of Finland main exhibition, you can experience the magic of the seasons and the creative power of nature, spiced up with a touch of Kalevala mythology. In addition to the main exhibition, Haltija has several temporary exhibitions. You can also book guided tours of the exhibition.
The museum card gives you free access to all Haltias exhibitions. The Nature Centre exhibitions can be viewed here.
For hikers
From the Haltian gate there are various circular trails: the Daisy Trail (1.4 km), the Goblin's Loop (2 km) and the Secret of the Red Melt (200 m), where you can take a shorter walk, for example when visiting the nature centre. From the Päivättärenpolfe there is a connecting path to the Nuuksio National Park at Haukkalampi.
The Solvalla circuit - The Solvalla circuit is a ring route marked with green signs. The route is 6 km long and has a turn-off at 3 km. The route is shared and can be used on foot or by bike. The Solvalla circuit is used in summer and in winter it is only for skiing.
In the dark season, you can also go on an adventure on the reflector trail!
