Organised for the 16th times this year, the Wuosisatamarkkinat Market Day in Vihti is the largest public event in the municipality, welcoming more than 10 000 visitors for the Saturday event. The idyllic main street of the old church village of Vihti is the heart of the Market Day event and the location of the many stalls. In addition to services offered by the municipality and the parish, the Market Day also features presentations by many local organizations, associations, businesses, and providers of recreational and tourism services. Numerous restaurants and cafés also serve visitors in the area. The Market Day offers a great opportunity for both locals and holiday residents to learn more about Vihti as a municipality and a place to live.

- This year, approximately 160 sellers and exhibitors are taking part in the market day with stalls offering various products ranging from organic local treats to crafts and other items made with both traditional and modern techniques. Visitors can also see various vehicles both old and new during the event, says Kai Viherkanto, President of SuurVihdin Kilta ry, which is in charge of the organization of the event.

The municipality of Vihti is hosting multiple locations at the event:

The municipality has an information stall at the museum of Vihti in Kyläaukio 1, where visitors can join the traditional plot hunt, meet people from the municipality's sports and exercise services, and have their body composition analysed. The price of a body composition analysis is 10 euros, and it takes approximately five minutes. Registration for the plot hunt opens as soon as the market day begins at 10:00, and competition ends at 12:45. The winner will receive a 30-percent discount on the price of a detached house plot from the municipality. The museum of Vihti is a hub of activity on market day! Museum visitors are urged to explore the redesigned permanent exhibition, which tells the story of Vihti through local people. The ceremonial hall houses an exhibition of works by graphic artist Ilma Ylirotu titled the Houses and Yards of Vihti, and the artist is also present during the exhibition. Vihti-Seura is showing traditional regional costumes at the yard of the granary from 12:00. In case of rain, the costumes will be shown inside the museum. Music by Hiiden pelimannit can be heard in the backyard of the museum (the band will play inside if it rains), and visitors can of course enjoy the services of the museum shop and café, which serves fresh pastries and slushies. The magnificently restored interior of the museum building, which offers genuine Jugend style and a window into the past, is itself worth a visit.

Jussi from the municipality's youth services can be found in the area, and young people can also pop by the stall of the youth council of Vihti (No. 65 on the map) to meet the local councilors and learn more about the activities of the council.
