Next weekend, on Saturday 10.6., Finland's biggest village event, the national Open Villages Day, will be celebrated!
Now in its ninth year, the aim of the day is to highlight the many activities that villages offer to tourists and residents alike. No less than eight villages from Vihti are participating this year!
The day's events are organised by village communities and local associations. Open Villages Day is organised by the Finnish Villages Association.

VIHTIJÄRVI
The flea market and the café of the VPK youth department are open from 11-16 at Vihtijärvi, Kylänpääntie 4.
OTALAMPI
There are activities and things to do for the whole family in Otalampi, at various locations around the village from 10-20!
At Nuuksio's Northern Gate you can find, among other things, morning exercises at Nuuksio's Taiai, the café Pohjoinen Pirtti is open and you can also explore the area by renting a fatbike or canoe. There is also a sound hummingbird retreat and a nature bath for babies.
In the Salmi outdoor area, you can also meet the Otalampi operators and enjoy yard games, a playground, swimming and a sausage roast.
At Härkälän Monitoimikeskus, OtaVoima's climbing and gym are receiving visitors and Nettojokke is open. There is a flea market at S-Market and at Otalampi beach, Kiulu beach sauna has extra shifts for keen swimmers.
The Siippoo Neste petrol station has special offers all day, and the antique shop Vihti Vintage is open all day in the former Siippoo school.

JOKIKUNTA
Lystilauantai ("Fun Saturday" is celebrated at the Seurojentalo clubhouse from 10:00 to 14:00. The free event for the whole family includes a bouncy castle, a hobby horse obstacle course and a lottery with great prizes.
Those who want to can have their faces painted, do some art or challenge themselves on a trick track. There are also sheep and donkeys to admire!

VANJÄRVI
The Art Day, jointly organised by Vanjärvi and Jokikunta, is being held for the second time - this time at the Vanjärvi clubhouse. The event is open from 14-17.30 and you can drop by anytime or spend the whole afternoon!
At 14:00, a café, art workshops for adults and children, and an art exhibition with works by Liisa Forsman, Leo Martiskainen and Salla Pikkuhookana will open.
Starting at 14.30, you can hear and see music, recitation and dance performances from all levels and sides.

GOVERNMENT
The summer season opens at the Herrakunta House from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The flea market is open with a café and local actors and businesses will be presenting their activities. Visitors will also be able to see the geothermal heating project at the Herrakunta House.
After 18:00 the village saunas will also heat up at the Herrakuntalo!
OINASJOKI
At Oinasjoki village association's summer event from 12-17 you can participate in a darts throwing competition and grill sausages in the lava, scratch goats in the carpenter's workshop, enjoy Asian food, learn about the activities of local associations and visit Salmela's Rustholl home museum, where you can also see a fun animation!
You can end your summer day tour with an English afternoon tea in the beautiful surroundings of Veikkolan kartano. Traditional 'finger sandwiches,' vanilla confectionery, a selection of small treats and a pot of brewed tea are served in two courses.
The programme and the locations of the events can be found on the Ariesjoki Village Association notice board at the junction of Mustakallion Road and East Ariesjoki Road. The event is free and open to all except for the afternoon tea.

SELKI
There are also many things happening in Seli village!
At Selin monitoimitalo, the café is open and the village association and other local actors will be present from 11:00 to 15:00.
Open day dances at the Seppola Youth Restaurant from 14-16 to the tune of Pekka Hoo and the Career Pipe Orchestra. The dances are free of charge, but a voluntary contribution can be made to support the maintenance of the clubhouse. The café is also open.
Visitors to the village will also be fed by the Dogs & Deli Diner, which is open from 12-18.In addition to delicious food, the Diner offers more than usual exciting activities for the whole family!

TERVALAMPI
At Tervalampi you will find music, art and village atmosphere on the Open Village Day!
At Pehtoor's farm, Makasiini soi!, enjoy live music and a pop-up summer café from 12-15.
Music will be provided by Tervalampi's ukulele players Tervauket, the pop/folk duo Hölynpölyä accompanied by guitar and violin, and Veikkola's Manor Theatre, which will perform songs from the upcoming summer music album "Kyllä tästä selvitään - napanderia Navalassa"!
Admission is free, cash and MobilePay are accepted in the café.

The beautiful Maaria Marja Melini Art Garden is open from 12-14 at Jokirinne 11.
In the park-like gardens, paths wind through the flowers from one sculpture to the next, and there are many places to rest. The works showcase biodiversity, Finnish animals and mythology. Visits are free of charge, but you can pay a contribution to the garden if you wish.

At Tervalampi Village Hall you can get to know the activities of the village hall and the Martas hold a village café in the village hall yard from 11-14.
The old school in Tervalampi has been given a new lease of life as an active village hall, and on the Open Village Day you can enjoy a special village atmosphere, coffee and sweet and savoury treats. Marja-Liisa Pursiainen will tell us about the village hall today and how it can be used, not forgetting the history of the former school.
