For the winter holidays, get a kick out of the sledding hill!

The winter holiday will kick off in earnest on Saturday 17.2. at 11 am with a sledding event in Jokikunta.

The putting green can be found behind the Hill Side Golf clubhouse, at the beginning of the road leading to the Riverside Clubhouse. Bring your own mountaineering equipment!

The village associations will be selling grilled sausages and coffee and buns - so bring cash. Representatives from Hill Side Golf will also be on hand to talk about the course and future plans.

A winter holiday programme for the whole week and for all ages

Vihti Sports Services organise free activities for children during the winter holidays, both in the water and in the sports hall.

In addition, on Saturday 24.2., the Sports Services will organise a paid Moonlight Snow Shoeing event at the Lakisto nature trails in Espoo. The hike is about 6 km long and takes 4-5 hours. Participation costs €5 per person. Registration by Sunday 18.2. Sign up here.

The Youth Services winter holiday programme starts already this week on Friday 16.2. with a Radescape game!
Youth facilities will be open during the winter holidays and if you sign up, you can go to the cinema, climbing, etc.

Municipal libraries have a programme of game workshops and trading cards. In the Church Village on Tuesday 20.2. and in the Main Library in Nummela on Wednesday 21.2.

Winter sports are close at hand in Vihti

Winter has been at its best, so it's definitely worth taking advantage of our wonderful local sports facilities during your winter holidays! Check the Vihti.sometec.fi service to find out the conditions on the skating rink and the floor.

And let's not forget Vihti Ski, where the hills are still in top condition! The SkiBus takes you to and from Helsinki, and the WinterPark also entertains those who prefer sledging or reindeer and alpacas.

The Uusimaa Recreation Area Association Uuvi highlights the Palakoski recreation area in Vihdi as one of its best winter hiking destinations.

Enjoy nature indoors and outdoors at Haltia Nature Centre

Winter nature can also be enjoyed in and around the Finnish Nature Centre Haltia.

A three-kilometre snowshoe trail and a five-kilometre winter biking trail start from the 30-year-old Nuuksio National Park, off the coast of Haltija. There are also trails for skiers.

The exhibitions are open and the winter holiday programme includes, among other things, a rood school and Art in Nature guided tours.

The week ends with a winter drive

The winter holiday week will end with the Ojakkala Winter Retreat on Sunday 25.2. at 12-15.

Around the Ojakkala Sports Centre, there will be snowmobile rides, horse-drawn carriage rides, air rifle shooting, a barbecue sausage sale and a politics fair.

Inside the sports hall, there is a photo exhibition and local associations present their activities. The buffet will include delicious minced meat soup, creamy salmon soup and vegetable soup. Coffee and buns will also be served.

During the day, a snow sculpture exhibition will be set up in the courtyard, which will be magnificently illuminated from 18-20.
