Next Saturday, the centre of Vihti Church Village will once again be filled with market stalls, delicious food and a varied programme when the Wuosisatamarkt takes place for the 17th time! Welcome the whole family, from near and far, to the idyllic church village!
The Niuhalanraitti, which runs through the village, and the Village Square are filled with market stalls offering a wide range of handicrafts, products made in old-fashioned style and techniques, and organic and local delicacies. Numerous organisations, associations, businesses, leisure and tourist services are also present at the market.
In the village square you will find a large number of restaurants and cafés, as well as a stage where there is a programme of events throughout the market.
The Vihti Museum, Viljamakasiini, Vihti VPK, Vihti Animal Protection Association LUE, Vihti Church, Vihti Parish Hall and Vihti Parish Hall will also be open on the market day with their own programmes. For example, stop by to see older fire and rescue equipment or climb the tower of Vihti Church!
The beach is home to a funfair, a flea market, Millitall pony rides and the Vihti Municipal Youth Office. The beach kiosk is open from 10 a.m. and you can try church windsurfing on the waterfront.
There will be a play area for children in the courtyard of the Vihko school centre and Vihti's Buddy Dogs will be presenting themselves. Inside the Vihko, the library is open: drop by the book sale or listen to artist Minka Heino talk about her community artwork "100 meaningful words" at 13.30.
You can sign up for the traditional Vihti Municipality plot hunt as soon as the market opens at 10 am, and the race ends at 13 pm. Pick up the plot hunt tasks from the Vihti Municipal Office (No 61) and return them to the office. The plot hunt is awarded with a 30% to 50% discount on the price of the municipal plot. Three winners will be drawn.
