Galleria Pictor's 2024 exhibition calendar will feature an exciting array of artists and artworks.
In addition to the exhibitions, there will also be meetings with artists, concerts and other special events. The most convenient way to find out about these is to visit Galleria Pictor's social media channels, the Vihti Municipality's events calendar or subscribe to Galleria Pictor's newsletter.
From the beginning of the year until the summer, Galleria Pictor will host four exhibitions.
20.1.-2.3. Juha Menna and Laura Pohjonen
The year opens with the exhibition Star of the Jungle and Spirit of the Forest by artist duo Juha Menna and Laura Pohjonen. Menna and Pohjonen bring portraits that tell the story of different aspects of humanity. In addition to the portraits, Menna's wooden sculptures will also be on display. The exhibition opens on Saturday 20.1.
9.3.-14.4. Nanna Susi
In March, we will welcome Nanna Sude, a star of the art world working in Finland and Italy, to Vihti. Nanna Susi is known for her colourful and expressive works. During the exhibition, Galleria Pictor will also be open on Sundays.
20.4.-11.5. Vihti School of Fine Arts
The traditional spring exhibition of the Vihti School of Fine Arts deals with the interaction between nature and the built environment. The students have been exploring the theme over the course of the academic year, drawing inspiration from gardens, where man tries to control nature, and deserted places, where nature has taken over what man has built. What does our environment look like through the eyes of children and young people?
20.5.-20.7. Arvid Hedin, Lotta Ingman, Jonna Johansson, Mari Lajunen, Jukka Nopsanen and the My Nature project: photographer Tarja Ruuska, florist Sirkku Leppäkorpi and the Vihti high school working group.
The theme of the Pictor summer exhibition is paradise, explored by artists from Vihti. The theme of paradise will be explored from many angles, for example through a relationship with nature, a self-made paradise, plant themes and bodily questions. Artists Arvid Hedin, Lotta Ingman, Jonna Johansson, Mari Lajunen, Jukka Nopsanen and the My Nature project, a collaboration between photographer Tarja Ruuska, florist Sirkku Leppäkorvi and a working group from Vihti Upper Secondary School.
The rest of the year will include exhibitions by Sakari Kannosto and Hanna Hyyf. The year will end with Galleria Pictori's Christmas Bazaar, which has also received praise this year!
Welcome to a rewarding year of art!
