This coming weekend, Vihti will host the Pahantorjuja Film Festival - a festival of good and well-made films!
The first-ever film festival will take place in the idyllic Vihti church village on 5-6 August 2022. The main screening venue will be the atmospheric Vihdin Kino, which opened in 1946, and two of the films will be screened at the Vihti Summer Theatre as open-air screenings.
The Film Festival programme includes seven films:
Tove, about the life of artist Tove Jansson, Einari Paakkanen's warm documentary Karaoke Paradise, the thrilling family film Vinski and Invisibility Powder, the intolerant critical success And Then We Danced, the Danish film One More, which won the 2021 Oscar for Best International Film, the recent psychological horror drama The Pitfalls, and a tribute to the music of Queen and their legendary lead singer Freddie Mercury - Bohemian Rhapsody.

You can meet Alma Pöysti, who won the Jussi Award for the title role in Tove, Karaoke Paradise director Einari Paakkanen and producer Marianne Mäkelä, Kuura Rossi in the lead role of Vinski and Invisibility Powder, and Hanna Bergholm, director of The Scourge of Evil!
In addition, after Karaoke Paradise, which will be shown as an open-air screening on Friday, karaoke will be performed at the local Hiltsu bar by Evi, Finland's most experienced karaoke host, who is also seen in the film!
On Saturday 6.8., Vihti Summer Theatre will also present the world-conquering Magic in Lapland series, in which award-winning magician Henri Kemppainen will introduce the audience to Finland's magnificent nature, magic and spectacular illusions. The show is presented by the municipality of Vihti. The show, which starts at 20.00, is open to all and free of charge.
