Vihti's tourism marketing website VisitVihti.fi has been revamped and a new brand identity has been introduced. In cooperation with Globe Hope, a company with roots in Vihti, the municipality of Vihti is also launching a new series of hiking products.
"Reform work has been intensive in recent months. We partnered with advertising agency Dirty, who created the website and a fresh visual identity for our tourism services. It is based on the municipality's brand and continues Vihti's story in a dynamic way," says Erkki Eerola, Mayor of Vihti.
At the heart of the new tourism brand are now the experiences of Viht and the idea of a self-drive adventure.
- Finland is full of some of the most beautiful places to visit. We wanted the new brand to successfully encapsulate Vihti's strengths: here, the self-drive traveller can experience a unique adventure built on the region's diverse and varied nature with its national parks, 500-year-old culture, good local services, local tourism businesses and inspiring events," Eerola continues.
Give feedback on the site
The development of Visit Vihti is still ongoing. The content of the website is partly based on the material on the previous home page, and information on the villages of Vihti and hiking destinations will be added during the spring.
Check out the new VisitVihti.fi website and give us your feedback by the end of March using this form. You can also use the same form to submit information about your own tourism business if you think it needs to be changed. All those who submit their contact details will be entered into a draw for tickets to the Hiidenkirnu Festival in July, which will feature performances by JVG, Sanni and Eppu Normaali, among others.
Vihti's location close to the capital region and along various transport links is excellent, so there is great potential for growing the tourism industry in the area.
"Vihti's tourism entrepreneurs have actively and successfully developed their own services and products to meet the needs of tourists. We in the municipality want to further intensify our cooperation with local tourism entrepreneurs in order to realise the existing opportunities," says Mika Partanen, the municipality's Business Development Manager.
Hiking products available in Globe Hope's factory outlet - proceeds to be used for the development of nature sites in Vihti
The product range will initially include Globe Hope's Naali chair base (€22), Hanki beanie (€35) and Mate light backpack (€29). Proceeds from the sale of the products will be used to develop the municipalities' camping sites, such as camping huts, campfire sites and trails.
"Developing our own product range has been defined as a strategic action in the municipality, and we feel that the theme of responsibly produced, hiking-related products fits perfectly with the new Visit Vihti brand. From the very first meeting, we felt strongly that Globe Hope was the best partner to implement the series. We hope that our customers will find these high-quality products and that they will be a joy and a benefit on their adventures, whether they are to Vihti's magnificent nature or other destinations," says Erkki Eerola.
- This has been a nice and fruitful collaboration for us and a pleasure to work with. We make products that prove that sustainability is a choice within everyone's reach. At Globe Hope, we are also proud to be green. Vihti's nature is very important to me personally and it was originally the reason I came to Vihti in the first place," says Seija Lukkala, CEO.
You can buy your own seat, hat or backpack at the Globe Hope factory outlet in Nummela (Harjutie 14). All products in the range are made from surplus or recycled materials in line with Globe Hope's mission statement. The product range will be extended at a later stage.
