In the game making workshop, you will learn how to make a game using the browser-based Scratch platform or develop your own idea further. The workshop is aimed at 8-12 year olds and is suitable for beginners as well as those who have already done some game making.
In the digital drawing course, you will draw and paint digitally using a drawing board and drawing software. The course is suitable for beginners as well as for those who have done digital drawing before. The course uses the Krita drawing software.

Sport
Of course, winter holidays also include outdoor activities and playing in the snow. At the moment, winter seems to be a little bit snowy, but luckily, having your own ski resort is often a sure way to enjoy the snow!
Vihti Ski
At the largest ski resort in the Helsinki metropolitan area, 45 km from Helsinki, skiers can enjoy 15 slopes and 10 lifts. Vihti Skin's award-winning ski school is open and there are several beginner and advanced courses for children during the winter holidays. www. vihtiski.fi/hiihtolomakurssit
If skiing is not your thing, you can spend some time at Vihti Skin WinterPark, where you can ski down the tubing hill, go on the snow hill and bouncy castles, and enjoy a barbecue. Rumour has it that the Winter Teddy Bear will also wake up from its winter sleep to entertain the little ones in the family! www.vihtiski.fi/winterpark
At Vihti Ski you can also ski 1.2 km of snow-covered slopes and enjoy the after-ski atmosphere!
Skiing, skating and open air
The weather for the winter holidays is still a mystery, but it's worth keeping your skis and skates ready for at least April.
If the rains are favourable, you can ski in Vihti not only on the Vihti Skin track, but also on the Nummelanharju tracks and the scenic trails maintained by villages and local associations. The conditions and locations of Vihti's tracks and skating rinks can be found at vihti.sometec.fi.
You can find out more about open water swimming at: www.vihti.fi/kulttuuri-ja-vapaa-aika/avantouinti.
Sports services fun days
Vihti Sports Services also organises free fun days for primary school children and children under school age during the winter holidays. On Tuesday 21 February, there will be games at the Nummelanharju school and on Wednesday 22 February at Vihti church village sports hall.
Check out the fun days at this link.
Hiking
A winter outing with a picnic is a nice way to spend time in the Salmi outdoor recreation area or on the nature trail in Pääkslahti, for example!
In Salmi, trails range from a couple of kilometres to ten kilometres. The paths in Salmi are wider, making them easier to follow than the forest paths in Pääkslahti, for example. The area has several cooking stalls and the café Pohjoinen Pirtti is open at weekends. There are also wood stoves and fireplaces.
There are three trails in Pääkslahti: Kirknunkierros (2.8 km), the Puumanni trail (1.3 km) and the Laukkakallio loop (1.2 km). There are also well-equipped Puumanni and Rysätarha resting sites with fireplaces. The shelters on location are equipped with wooden benches. From the resting place, you can also visit the nearby lookout points to admire the waters surrounding the peninsula.
You can also go adventuring on Kokkokallio, from the top of which you can watch the folding winter snow. Remember, however, that our destinations are not winter-soaked, so especially Pääkslahti and Kokkokallio with its rocks and roots can be slippery in places! So walk carefully!
